China takes important steps to boost international cooperation, signs OECD Multilateral Competent Authority and other agreements

China (a non-OECD member) has become the 77th signatory to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) Multilateral Competent Authority Agreement (MCAA), which will allow it to progress with the automatic exchange of financial account information as prescribed in the OECD's Common Reporting Standard (CRS). Bilateral exchanges are due to commence in 2018, as soon as signatories to the MCAA file notifications with the respective exchanging country.
