UK Government announces extension of Immigration Health Surcharge to Australian and New Zealand nationals

The UK Government has announced that the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) will be extended to cover UK visa applications by Australian and New Zealand nationals from April 6, 2016. Applicants of these nationalities had previously been exempt from paying the IHS. This change will increase the cost of most visa applications for these nationals by £200 per applicant per year.

A Tax Alert prepared by Ernst & Young's Human Capital Group, and attached below, provides additional details.
