India's APA authorities to share results of unilateral APAs with other competent authorities

Any company considering filing a request for a unilateral advance pricing arrangement (APA) with India should be aware that India has decided that the high level details of all concluded unilateral APAs will be shared with the competent authorities of all such countries where the Indian applicant's related parties are located, including immediate, intermediate and ultimate parent companies. India's APA program was announced in 2012 and the first wave of applications for APAs was filed by March 31, 2013. Approximately 600 applications have been filed to date, and 41 APAs have been completed, of which 38 are unilateral and 3 bilateral.

A Tax Alert prepared by Ernst & Young's Transfer Pricing group, and attached below, provides additional details.
