Canada's Electronic Travel Authorization implementation date extended until fall 2016

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that there will be a grace period until fall of 2016 to obtain the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) previously scheduled for implementation on March 15. Visa-exempt foreign nationals entering Canada by air will be permitted to board their flight after March 15 even if they have not registered for the eTA. It is expected that the eTA requirement will be implemented later in the fall 2016.

A Tax Alert prepared by Egan LLP, and attached below, provides additional details.
