08 March 2016 Canada's Electronic Travel Authorization implementation date extended until fall 2016 Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has announced that there will be a grace period until fall of 2016 to obtain the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) previously scheduled for implementation on March 15. Visa-exempt foreign nationals entering Canada by air will be permitted to board their flight after March 15 even if they have not registered for the eTA.
