17 March 2016 Hungary ratifies tax treaty with Islamic Republic of Iran Hungary ratified the tax treaty between Hungary and the Islamic Republic of Iran on March 10. The tax treaty is the first of its kind to be concluded between the countries, and it is expected to come into effect by January 1, 2017. As Iran has few tax treaties, especially treaties with other typical holding or financing jurisdictions, the Hungary-Iran tax treaty should provide a platform for multinationals seeking to invest into Iran.
