18 March 2016 UK Government announces changes to the Immigration Rules and visa application fees to take effect in March and April 2016 The UK Government has announced a series of changes to the Immigration Rules that will come into effect from the April 6. Most notably, the practical operation of the annual limit on skilled migration will be altered slightly in favor of employers and the English language rules will be amended so as to reintroduce the requirement to obtain certificates of equivalency from UK NARIC when relying on an overseas degree that was taught in English. The UK Government has also published details of new visa application fees that will apply to all UK immigration and nationality applications from March 18. There will be significant increases to the fees associated with applications for Permanent Residence and British nationality.
