Update provided on introduction of withholding tax in France

The French Minister of Finance confirmed on March 16, the introduction of French withholding tax with effect from January 1, 2018. More information was also provided on the scope of this new regime and some of the mechanics but a number of key areas remain unclear, not least of which is how the transition from the current system of taxation to the new one will be effected.
