31 March 2016 Law firm clients: New York State Department of Taxation and Finance now accepts e-filed 2015 partnership returns with corporate partners Effective March 29, 2016, the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance is able to accept electronically filed 2015 partnership returns from law firms with corporate partners. Effective immediately, law firms with a New York State partnership tax filing obligation may electronically file their 2015 partnership returns and include Forms IT-204.1, New York Corporate Partners' Schedule K, and IT-204-CP, New York Corporate Partner's Schedule K-1. Law firms with corporate partners that filed Form IT-370-PF, Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File for Partnerships and Fiduciaries, and were not able to electronically file their New York partnership return before the extended due date due to the unavailability of the necessary forms have until June 27, 2016, to electronically file their 2015 New York State partnership return without penalty for late filing.
