15 April 2016 Newfoundland and Labrador budget 2016-17 discussed Newfoundland and Labrador Finance Minister Cathy Bennett tabled the province's fiscal 2016-17 budget on April 14. The budget contains several tax measures affecting individuals and corporations, including increases in rates, introduction of new taxes/levies and the elimination of certain tax credits. To offset the impact of these measures on low-income residents, a new provincial income supplement is also being introduced. The minister also committed to providing a supplemental budget as part of the 2016 fall fiscal update. The minister noted that this supplemental budget may include further tax measures.
