Panama commits to implementing the OECD's Common Reporting Standard as of 2018

On April 19, 2016, Panama's Minister of the Presidency, Alvaro Alemán, announced that Panama will start implementing the automatic exchange of financial information in accordance with the OECD's Common Reporting Standards (CRS) on a bilateral and reciprocal basis as of 2018.

Additionally, Panama and Japan have announced they will start negotiating a Bilateral Tax Information Exchange Agreement that will provide for an automatic exchange of information to be made under the CRS.
