10 June 2016 Poland's President signs GAAR provisions The President of Poland signed the bill introducing amendments to the Tax Code on June 7, including the General Anti-Abuse Rule (GAAR) provisions. The bill is scheduled to come into force 30 days after its publication in the Journal of Laws (date of publication is not known yet but should take place soon). Consequently, it is likely that GAAR will be introduced in July 2016. GAAR is intended to prevent the creation and use of artificial legal arrangements to avoid payment of tax in Poland. This is probably the most significant change in the Polish tax law this year. Document ID: 2016-1009 |
