17 June 2016 Australia's employer facility accredited to deliver shorter visa processing times and longer sponsorship validity Many more businesses will be able to access priority processing of subclass 457 visa applications from July 1, under the Department of Immigration and Border Protection's refreshed accredited sponsorship arrangements. Streamlined processing built around risk factors including occupation, salary and sponsor compliance along with a "redefined" accredited sponsor system were recommended by the Independent Review into the Integrity of the subclass 457 visa program. Access to accredited sponsorship status has been previously limited to businesses that sponsor a large number of subclass 457 visa holders. Businesses with current sponsorship approval who meet the new requirements for accredited status may apply for this facility from July 1, and take advantage of priority application processing and a longer sponsorship validity period. A Tax Alert prepared by EY's People Advisory Services group, and attached below, provides additional details. Document ID: 2016-1054 |
