24 June 2016 Vote to leave the EU will trigger significant change in the UK's approach to immigration The United Kingdom has voted to leave the EU in a national referendum and now has two years in which to effect its exit from when the Prime Minister invokes Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. While the UK's participation in freedom of movement within the EU will continue until further announcements are made, employers should prepare for change now. Although the detailed time line and nature of the transition to an ultimate separation will not be certain, employers should begin to develop their strategic approach to managing this change. A Tax Alert prepared by EY's People Advisory Services group, and attached below, provides additional details. Document ID: 2016-1108 |
