06 September 2016 Congress returns for pre-election session September 6 commenced a pre-election session of Congress that is expected to focus on must-do items: a continuing resolution (CR) to fund the government beyond September 30 and funding to combat the Zika virus. The House is expected to be in session through the month of September, and the Senate is slated to be in an additional week, through the first week of October, before breaking until after the November 8 elections.
