07 September 2016 Tanzania Tax Authorities introduce requirement to verify tax identification numbers The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has recently introduced the requirement for all taxpayers registered with the Authority to immediately verify their Tax Identification Numbers (TIN). All taxpayers are to receive a new TIN certificate. Failure to register will lead to the revocation of taxpayer's TIN certificate. The measure is intended to assist the TRA's efforts in ensuring its process of installing new and modern technology to make the taxpayers' record keeping system more effective.
