Irish Revenue Commissioners host meeting of EU tax authorities on modernizing VAT groups

The Irish Revenue Commissioners hosted a joint meeting of representatives of the tax authorities of all European Union (EU) Member States (the Future of Value Added Tax (VAT) group) and the VAT Expert Group in Dublin, Ireland on September 12-14, to address "Modernizing VAT groups." The purpose of the conference was to discuss VAT groups in an overall EU context as there is no common view among Member States on how VAT grouping rules should be applied.
