French Public Register of Trusts is declared unconstitutional

The French Supreme Constitutional Court (Conseil Constitutionnel) on October 21, ruled that the French Public Register of Trusts was in breach of privacy rights. The Public Register of Trusts breached privacy rights due notably to its disclosing to the public the details related to individuals who are part of the trust arrangements as well as information about their respective wealth management decisions. This decision stems from a priority preliminary ruling on constitutionality (French QPC) filed at the end of July 2016.
