French Consulates now responsible for processing work permit criteria from November 1

France published a new immigration law on March 7 that will take effect on November 1. Following the implementation of the law, certain immigration categories will no longer require prior work authorization and French Consulates abroad will now handle the latter immigration applications. Additionally, new procedures under the EU posted workers directive require the provision of information to the Labour Inspectorate on inbound posted workers before the posting commences.
