10 November 2016 Tanzania introduces requirement for foreign nationals to obtain residence ID cards Tanzania's National Identification Authority (NIDA) has recently introduced a requirement for all foreign nationals residing in Dar es Salaam to obtain a residence ID card. It is expected that this requirement will extend beyond Dar and that all individuals aged 18 or above, residing in Tanzania for a period of more than six months, will be required to register with NIDA in order to obtain a residence card. This requirement will form part of the immigration process for all relevant foreign nationals.
