10 November 2016 Australia winding back clock on subclass 457 visa terminations A change to the Migration Regulations will reduce the time that sponsored temporary workers may remain in Australia on their subclass 457 visa after employment with their sponsor ceases. Holders of subclass 457 visas granted on or after November 19, 2016 will be permitted to remain in Australia for 60 days after ceasing employment. Subclass 457 visas granted before that date will continue to permit visa holders to remain in Australia for 90 days after ceasing employment.
