09 December 2016 India signs revised tax treaty with Cyprus The Government of India issued a press release on November 18, stating that India and Cyprus signed a revised income tax treaty (the Revised Treaty) and Protocol. The Revised Treaty will replace the current 1994 tax treaty (the Current Treaty). The Revised Treaty will enter into force after completion of ratification procedures in India and Cyprus, and is expected to become effective in India with regard to income derived in a fiscal year beginning on or after April 1, 2017.
