House Ways & Means Committee subcommittee chairmen and Republican member assignments were announced on January 6, 2017. Rep. Peter Roskam (R-IL) will serve as Chairman of the Tax Policy Subcommittee, and Rep. Pat Tiberi (R-OH) will serve as Chairman of the Health Subcommittee.

"Our new subcommittee assignments reflect the broad range of experience our Members bring to Ways and Means," Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) said in a release, which is attached. "Whether they previously worked as a CPA, nurse, or small business owner, each Member has a unique perspective on how to deliver real solutions to the American people. I'm excited about all we will achieve during the 115th Congress."

The subcommittee assignments reflect the addition of three new Republican members announced earlier: Reps. Carlos Curbelo (R-FL), Jackie Walorski (R-IN), and David Schweikert (R-AZ). Also today, Social Security Subcommittee Chairman Sam Johnson (R-TX) announced he would not run for re-election in 2018.
