11 May 2017 Ways and Means to hold tax reform hearing The House Ways and Means Committee has scheduled a hearing on "how tax reform will grow our economy and create jobs across America" for Thursday, May 18 at 10:00 a.m. A hearing notice, which is attached, said the hearing will focus on "tax reform policies that will generate economic growth, create jobs, and increase paychecks for all Americans." Witnesses have not been announced. In announcing the hearing, Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) said: "Ways and Means Republicans are focused on pro-growth, comprehensive tax reform because it will create jobs, increase paychecks, and grow our economy. We'll hear from witnesses about specific policy proposals that deliver the most economic growth and how our ideas will directly help hardworking taxpayers and the businesses that create jobs across America. Our hearing is an important step forward as we work with President Trump and our Senate colleagues on delivering historic pro-growth tax reform for the first time in 30 years."
