Ways & Means announces May 23 hearing witnesses

The House Ways and Means Committee announced the witnesses for its May 23 hearing, "Increasing U.S. Competitiveness and Preventing American Jobs from Moving Overseas," which will include discussion of border adjustability and international tax reform.

Following is a list of witnesses, along with descriptions, provided by the Committee:

Juan Luciano, Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and CEO of Archer Daniels Midland Company. Juan Luciano is Chairman of the Board of Directors, President and Chief Executive Officer of Archer Daniels Midland Company. Before joining ADM, Mr. Luciano served as executive vice president and president of the Performance division for The Dow Chemical Company.

Brian Cornell, Board Chairman and CEO, Target Corp. Brian Cornell is Board Chairman and CEO of Target Corp. Before joining Target in 2014, Mr. Cornell served more than 30 years in leadership positions with retail and global consumer product companies.

William Simon, Former President and Chief Executive Officer, Walmart U.S. Bill Simon is the former President and Chief Executive Officer of Walmart U.S. and Executive Vice-President of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. Mr. Simon served for 25 years in the US Navy and Navy Reserve, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander in 2005, and as Secretary of the Florida Department of Management Services.

Lawrence B. Lindsey, President and Chief Executive Officer, The Lindsey Group. Lawrence Lindsey is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Lindsey Group. Mr. Lindsey was the Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and Director of the National Economic Council for President George W. Bush from 2001-2002.

Kimberly Clausing, Thormund A. Miller and Walter Mintz Professor of Economics, Reed College. Kimberly Clausing is the Thormund A. Miller and Walter Mintz Professor of Economics at Reed College. Her research studies the taxation of multinational firms, examining how government decisions and firm behavior interplay in an increasingly global world economy.
