Senate approves Kautter as Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy

The Senate on August 3, 2017, approved by voice vote the nomination of David Kautter, a former Director of National Tax at EY, to serve as the United States Treasury Assistant Secretary for Tax Policy. The nomination was one of a large number approved as the Senate appeared to be wrapping up its business and headed toward recessing until September.

The Senate also approved the FDA Reauthorization Act (H.R. 2430) by a vote of 94-1.
