13 September 2017 Tax reform outline to be released week of September 25, Republican leaders say A tax reform outline reflecting a consensus among congressional tax-writers and the Trump administration will be released the week of September 25, and will be a "basic template" from which the tax committees will then work in filling out details, House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) said at a news conference on September 13, 2017. Ways and Means Committee Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX) also told House Republicans that more details on tax reform will be released the week of September 25. "We will release a consensus document with the core elements of big, bold tax reform," Brady told reporters, according to a Wall Street Journal report. The report also said that Republicans hope to complete work on a budget resolution to provide reconciliation instructions for tax reform by mid-October and release and vote on tax legislation after that. President Trump tweeted: "The approval process for the biggest Tax Cut & Tax Reform package in the history of our country will soon begin. Move fast Congress!"
