Wyoming 2018 state unemployment insurance taxable wage to decrease

According to a Wyoming Department of Workforce Services unemployment tax division representative, the state unemployment insurance (SUI) taxable wage base will decrease again for calendar year 2018, down by $700 to $24,700 for 2018. (Telephone conversation, July 31, 2017.)

For calendar year 2017 the taxable wage base decreased to $25,400, down from $25,500 in 2016.

Per Wyoming Statutes Section 27-3-102, the SUI taxable wage base is computed each year as 55% of the statewide average annual wage and rounded to the lowest $100.

Information on the calendar year 2018 employer SUI tax rate factors is not available at this time but should be released by mid-December 2017.
