South Carolina updates withholding tables for 2018, Form W-2 filing reminders

The South Carolina Department of Revenue issued revised withholding tables that are effective with wages paid on and after January 1, 2018.

The annual computer formula can be found here and the wage bracket withholding tables are here.

As we reported previously, starting with the calendar year 2017 withholding tables and formula the Department will issue updates every year.

Supplemental withholding rate will remain the same

The supplemental withholding rate will remain at 7.0% for 2018, the highest rate on the computer formula tables. (Telephone conversation, withholding tax section representative, October 13, 2017.)

Forms W-2 for calendar year 2017 due by January 31, 2018

As a reminder, Form WH-1606, South Carolina Withholding Fourth Quarter 2017 and Annual Reconciliation Return and calendar year 2017 Forms W-2 will be due on January 31, 2018.

Employers submitting 250 or more Forms W-2 must file electronically over the Department's MyDORWAY system.
