Republican House tax bill conferees announced

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) today (December 4, 2017) named Republican members to serve on the House-Senate conference committee for the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The House will formally vote to go to conference with the Senate later this evening.

From the Ways and Means Committee, conferees are:

1. Conference Chair: Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX)
2. Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA)
3. Rep. Peter Roskam (R-IL)
4. Rep. Diane Black (R-TN)
5. Rep. Kristi Noem (R-SD)

The Senate tax reconciliation bill includes a separate measure from the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to permit drilling in a portion of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).

Speaker Ryan said for the purposes of provisions outside the jurisdiction of the Ways and Means Committee, the conferees from the Natural Resources Committee are Chairman Rob Bishop (R-UT) and Rep. Don Young (R-AK); and from the Energy and Commerce Committee are Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) and Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL).
