April 6, 2018 Japan enacts 2018 tax reform bill Japan's 2018 tax reform bill (the Bill) was enacted on March 28, following passage of the Bill by the Japanese Diet. The tax law enforcement orders, which are regulations provided by the Government to supplement tax law, were also published in the Official Gazette on March 31. The Bill generally follows the tax reform outline announced by Japan's coalition leading parties in December 2017. The amendments generally apply to tax years beginning on or after April 1 unless otherwise specified. A Global Tax Alert, attached below, provides additional details. ———————————————
