08 May 2018 Puerto Rico's Municipal Revenue Collection Center extends due date for personal property tax return to May 21, 2018 Puerto Rico's Municipal Revenue Collection Center has extended (Administrative Order 2018-04) the due date for filing the personal property tax return or request for automatic extension of time to file for tax year 2017 from May 15, 2018 to May 21, 2018. The extension also applies to any payments due with the return or extension. The return or extension must be filed electronically. Administrative Order 2018-03, dated May 3, 2018, requires mandatory electronic filing of the return by all taxpayers, starting with tax year 2017. Before the issuance of Administrative Order 2018-03, generally, only those taxpayers with a volume of business over $3 million were required to file electronically. Companies with taxable personal property in Puerto Rico must file their 2017 personal property tax return or extension through a new electronic filing portal. Through this portal, taxpayers will also have to remit any balance due with the return or the extension, as well as make estimated personal property tax payments. The new portal accepts payments made by ACH debit or credit card. Taxpayers can also pay the tax liability via wire transfer. Document ID: 2018-0965 |
