German Federal Ministry of Finance publishes draft Annual Tax Act 2018

On June 25, 2018, the German Ministry of Finance published a draft of the Annual Tax Act 2018, which is expected to be legislated in the third and fourth quarter of 2018. There are several items in the draft that are of particular relevance for business taxpayers including changes to the taxation of capital gains realized by nonresident taxpayers upon the disposition of shares in "land-rich" corporations and an amendment to the change in ownership limitation rules.
