Personal income tax implications of South Africa's Draft Tax Administration Laws Amendment Bill

South Africa's National Treasury on July 16 published the 2018 Draft Taxation Laws Amendment Bill and the 2018 Draft Tax Administration Laws Amendment Bill for public comment. Comments are due by the close of business on August 16, 2018. Key income tax proposals under the 2018 DTALAB regarding individuals, savings and employment issues include clarifying the tax treatment and obligations of funds managed by bargaining council and addressing anomalies with respect to medical tax credits.
