Ghana amends personal income tax rates

The Parliament of Ghana passed the Income Tax (Amendment) Act, 2018, Act 973. The Act was assented to by the President on July 31, and gazetted on August 1. Consequently, it came into force on August 1. The Act was enacted to include a sixth income tax band for individual chargeable income above GHS120,0001 per annum. This band will be subject to tax at the rate of 35%.
