Congress returns for pre-election session

The House and Senate returned to session on September 4 for a relatively short session prior to the expected recess for the November elections. Those elections, which are top of mind for all members and will determine Congressional control in 2019, to a certain extent will drive the fall legislative agenda. That agenda includes government funding, nominations, tax reform implementation, health care, and international trade issues. The attached Tax Alert has details.
