18 November 2019 Puerto Rico's Municipal Revenue Collection Center issues new instructions for reporting estimated personal property tax payments Puerto Rico's Municipal Revenue Collection Center (CRIM for its Spanish acronym) issued new instructions for reporting estimated personal property tax payments made by wire transfer or ACH credit to the CRIM to ensure the payments are credited to the taxpayer's account. Taxpayers should report the wire transfers and ACH credit payments through the "Notification of Payments" option on the Portal E-MUEBLE . Taxpayers should include all of the payment information, including the type of payment (estimated tax, tax return or extension), the payment method (wire transfer or ACH credit), the amount paid, the payment date and the year to which the payment applies, as well as evidence of the payment issued by the bank. These instructions replace the requirement to send an email to crimwiretrans@crimpr.net with the payment information. This new process is effective beginning November 2019. Taxpayers must follow the process established by the CRIM to ensure the payments are automatically applied to the taxpayers' accounts at the time of filing the final return or extension for the corresponding period, and to avoid receiving tax notices.
