Uruguay deposited its MLI ratification with the OECD

The MLI will enter into force for Uruguay on June 1, 2020, and certain treaties will be modified as of that date.

On February 6, 2020, Uruguay deposited its instrument of ratification for the Multilateral Convention to Implement Tax Treaty Related Measures to Prevent Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (MLI) with the OECD's Secretary-General, Angel Gurría.

It will enter into force for Uruguay on June 1, 2020. As of that date, the treaties that Uruguay has with the following countries will change: Belgium, Finland, India, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Singapore, United Arabic Emirates and United Kingdom. Treaties that Uruguay has with other countries may be modified in the future depending on whether those countries adhere to the MLI, ratify the MLI and choose to have the treaty with Uruguay modified.
