Panama’s tax authority suspends administrative proceedings due to COVID-19 outbreak

Administrative appeals proceedings under the tax authority’s jurisdiction have been suspended until April 3, 2020.

Due to the “State of National Emergency” declaration because of COVID-19, Panama’s General Directorate of Revenue issued Resolution 201-2270 of 2020, which suspends administrative appeals proceedings within its jurisdiction. The suspension applies from March 16, 2020 to April 3, 2020. The tax authority may extend the suspension if needed.

The Resolution is aimed at preventing gatherings of people in their offices in accordance with the measures established by the health authorities.
