31 March 2020 Treasury publishes guidelines for support to air carriers The Treasury Department has released guidelines and procedures for support under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act for "passenger and cargo air carriers, eligible businesses and businesses critical to maintaining national security that have experienced losses as a result of coronavirus." In a statement released at 12:15 a.m. on March 31, Treasury said it "published the following resources to assist eligible businesses in applying for payroll support to enable the continued payment of employee wages, salaries, and benefits, and for loans pursuant to the [CARES] Act":
