Panama's Government issues shelter in place order to control the spread of COVID-19

Individuals should comply with the curfew as failure to comply will result in sanctions.

Because of the increase in the number of deaths and individuals infected with COVID-19, Panama's Executive Branch issued Executive Decree No. 505 of 2020 modifying the previous curfew of 9:00 pm to 5:00 am by requiring Panamanian citizens to shelter in place. The shelter in place order went into effect on March 24, 2020.

The decree does not modify the list of individuals previously exempt from the curfew established in Executive Decree 490 of 2020.
