03 April 2020 Panamanian National Immigration Service extends the validity of residence permits issued to foreigners due to the national state of emergency Residence permits for foreigners that were set to expire beginning March 13, 2020, are extended to April 30, 2020. In light of Executive Decree 217 of March 16, 2020, which established temporary measures for immigration control in Panama, the Panamanian National Immigration Service issued Resolution 6518 of 2020 (the Resolution), extending until April 30, 2020, the validity of residence permits issued to foreigners that were set to expire beginning March 13, 2020. The extension also applies to certain processes, including provisional permit cards, nonresident visas, judicial-stay cards, and migratory regularization cards. In addition, the proceedings managed by the National Migration Service and its regional branches, as well as in-person customer service, will be suspended until April 30, 2020. According to established restrictions, foreigners will only be allowed into Panama for humanitarian assistance flights and to transport products such as, medical equipment, medications, vaccines, and any other sanitary related products.
