Senate Banking Committee questions Federal Reserve Chair Powell

Powell says economy won't 'bounce back' fully until pandemic is controlled; urges Congress to provide more relief; says women & minorities were hit especially hard

The Senate Banking Committee on June 16 held a hearing to receive the semiannual monetary policy report from Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, who was the only witness. The hearing was held entirely on a remote basis, with all senators and Powell participating via video connections.
