House Energy & Commerce questions top officials on Administration's pandemic response

Fauci calls recent rise in cases 'very disturbing'; witnesses warn pandemic and flu will strain systems this fall; CDC's Redfield says US falls short of goal of 900K daily tests

The House Energy and Commerce Committee on June 23 held a five-hour hearing on "Oversight of the Trump Administration's Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic." Testimony from the hearing is posted here. The witnesses were:

  • Anthony Fauci, Director, National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases
  • Robert Redfield, Director, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
  • Admiral Brett Giroir, Assistant Secretary for Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
  • Stephen Hahn, Commissioner, U.S. Food and Drug Administration
