IRS issues final regulations on computing and reporting life insurance reserves

The IRS has issued final regulations (TD 9911) providing guidance on the computation of life insurance reserves and the change in basis of computing certain reserves of life insurance companies. The final regulations reflect some changes to underlying proposed regulations (REG-132529-17), issued in April 2020, on which the IRS received six sets of public comments.
