Tuesday, December 8 | Year-end update - Latest developments related to the ACA and employer credits including the WOTC (1 pm ET)

To help our discussion be as informative as possible, please send any questions that you have regarding the Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC), other employer credits and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to thought.center.webcast@ey.com no later than Friday, 4 December 2020.

Join us for a year-end update on the ACA and employer credits including the WOTC. This session is set against a backdrop rife with the potential for change. The United States Supreme Court heard oral arguments in California v. Texas on 10 November 2020, in which the petitioner argued that the ACA should be eliminated because of the increased administrative burden on the states. The WOTC and other tax extenders are set to expire on 31 December 2020, just before the transition of power from one administration to the next.

Our Ernst & Young LLP professionals will also cover the potential impacts of the recent presidential election and the judicial and legislative landscape on these issues. We’ll discuss how your business can continue to effectively comply with the reporting requirements of the ACA and potentially benefit from the WOTC and other credits during this unprecedented time.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • Impact of the recent presidential election and a judicial and legislative update
  • WOTC potential legislative changes including hiatus and COVID-19 target group, as well as the status of other extenders
  • ACA technical update covering filing needs, state reporting, deadlines and the impact of COVID-19
  • Other employer credits including the Employee Retention Credit, Disaster Zone Credit and Safe and Healthy Workplace Credit

Discussion topics may change or be supplemented depending on whether new legislative developments occur before the webcast.
