The GLOBE regime should better accommodate the insurance industry (Tax Notes Federal)
J. Howard Stecker, a retired partner and consultant to the insurance tax practice of EY LLP and Michael Beaty, a partner in EY's insurance tax practice, recently authored an article published in Tax Analysts' Tax Notes Federal, discussing the global anti-base-erosion (GLOBE) regime.
In this article, the authors examine the potential challenges of the OECD's Pillar 2 approach for insurance companies, including how double taxation may be incurred if the proposal fails to take deferred tax accounting into consideration.
