IRS publishes 2022 inflation adjustment amounts for HSAs

The IRS has published (Revenue Procedure 2021-25) the 2022 inflation adjustment amounts for health savings accounts (HSAs) and the maximum amount ($1,800) that may be made newly available for excepted benefit health reimbursement arrangements. The 2022 annual limitation for self-only coverage under a high-deductible health plan is $3,650; the limitation for family coverage is $7,300. For 2022, a high-deductible health plan under IRC Section 223(c)(2)(A) must have an annual deductible of at least $1,400 for self-only coverage or $2,800 for family coverage and annual out-of-pocket expenses that do not exceed $7,050 for an individual or $14,100 for a family.
