The impact of 'offshore indirect transfer' regulations in the Asia-Pacific region, Latin America and European Union: what you need to know

Taxation of "offshore indirect transfers" (OITs) has emerged as a significant tax issue for multinational companies. These transfers, which can result from internal reorganizations, divestitures and acquisitions, are being subjected to increased scrutiny and challenges in countries where the underlying assets are located. The regulations governing taxation of OITs differ from country to country in terms of both legal approach and kinds of assets being taxed, creating reporting challenges for multinational businesses.

This webcast features panelists from across the Asia-Pacific region, Latin America and the EU, who will discuss:

  • OIT regulations, including reporting obligations and their impact on transactions and restructurings
  • Perspectives of revenue authorities implementing OIT regulations
  • Practical considerations for businesses in light of local country/regional perspectives
