November 2, 2021 2021-1995 Uruguay announces new policies for inbound travelers Travelers who qualify for admission as fully vaccinated or recovered persons, or as minors, are not required to quarantine on arrival, unless they test positive for COVID-19 after entering into Uruguay. Effective November 1, fully vaccinated travelers, travelers under the age of 18, and individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 20 to 90 days prior to their travel to Uruguay and are not symptomatic, are now admissible to Uruguay, provided they: (1) take a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) COVID-19 test no more than 72 hours prior to travel (by air) or arrival (by land), and test negative, (2) take a second PCR COVID-19 test seven days after their first PCR COVID-19 test, (3) possess medical insurance that covers the cost of COVID-19-related treatment while in Uruguay, and (4) complete a declaration form and present the same to the Uruguayan border authorities upon arrival.
