Australia's international borders to begin reopening December 15 in order to reinvigorate skilled migration

After nearly two years of tight restrictions, Australia's international borders were to begin to reopen from December 1 to welcome greater numbers of skilled migrants. In response to concerns over the Omicron variant of COVID-19, however, this reopening is delayed until December 15 and additional targeted restrictions have been imposed.
